About this item
A very attractive 18th century Worcester porcelain scallop fluted junket dish decorated with a blue scale ground with ornate gilt framed white reserves finely painted with European flowers in bright enamels. Fabulous detailed rococo gilt decoration across the blue ground with trailing flowers between the reserves, fans, scrolls, arabesques and grassy leaves emanating from the gilt rim. Blue square mark to the base, c.1770.
It measures 24.8cm (9 3/4") wide and 4.5cm (1 3/4") high.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Some very minor wear to the enamels at the high points of the fluting in a couple of places but actual handling wear is minimal, no discernible rubbing to the gilding or signs of use to the glaze.
