About this item
A first period Worcester porcelain blue and white butter tub, cover and stand printed in the ever popular oriental inspired "fence" pattern. Of circular shape, the tub with fluted lug handles and the cover with a moulded rose flower knop.
The stand and tub are marked with a hatched crescent. Reference, Branyan, French & Sandon section II.B.9.
The stand measures 15.9cm (6 1/4") wide and 2.5cm (1"). The tub and cover measure 10.8cm (4 1/4") wide and 8.2cm (3 3/4") high.
Condition is very good; one of the handles has had some professional invisible restoration. No other damage or repair bar a couple of very minor frits and chips to the knop. Light handling wear. A little bit of blurring / print running in places.
