About this item
This Royal Worcester figure entitled "Old Goat Woman" was modelled by Phoebe Stabler in 1931 when she was doing freelance work for Royal Worcester. It is modelled on an elderly Belgian peasant woman holding the leash of a goat. The model number is 2886. It stands 150 mm, or 6 inches,in height and is in excellent condition with no damage to it at all. Its production ran from 1931 through to 1955 with this one carrying the date mark for 1949.
An interesting sidelight is that someone has written in pencil on the base 8 pound 7 shillings and sixpence, which I assume was the retail price in 1949.
