About this item
An attractive 18th century Worcester porcelain oval dish with a scale blue ground, large central oval reserve with scalloped edge painted with a large spray of continental flowers in bright polychrome enamels. 4 other shaped reserves around the sides with ornate rococo style gilded frames, each filled with sprays of flowers against a white ground. Additional gilt sprays painted over the scale blue ground and finished with a gilded rim. Blue fretted square mark to the base
Provenance: collection sticker for T. A. Hall, Burnley.
It measures 19.9cm (7 13/16") long, 15.2cm (6") wide and 2.9cm (1 1/8") high.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration and minimal handling wear to either enamels or gilding. There have been a couple of kiln dust blows taking small spots of green enamel with them and and a few areas of sparsely scattered kiln dust dots here and there.
