    About this item

A really gorgeous Worcester porcelain coffee cup with unusual scalloped rim and grooved handle painted with "The Scalloped Peony" pattern. This pattern is the only one in underglaze blue to be found on tea-wares with this scalloped rim and is classed as "uncommon" in Branyan, French & Sandon. It is unmarked, c.1765-1770

Reference: Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751-1790, Branyan, French & Sandon, section I.E.9.

    It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high, 5.5cm (2 3/16") rim to rim and 8.2cm (3 1/4") rim to handle.

Condition is very good; there is a small, shallow chip to the foot rim. No other issues or restoration and handling wear is light.
