    About this item

A fabulous large Worcester porcelain pedestal centrepiece of elliptical shape with fluted walls and shaped rim with moulded detailing and matching detailing to the edge of the foot. Decorated with the French / Sevres influence with a gorgeous rich royal blue edge above and below the rims and very carefully painted floral sprigs en camaieu in a purple enamel around the walls and to the underside of the bowl. A feathered edge scalloped gilt ellipse in the centre frames a multi coloured floral arrangement. Gilt feathered scalloped edge to the blue ground (varying slightly to the underside, chain link style border and the mouldings to the edge of the bowl and the rims also picked out in gilt. Wigornia W mark to the base, c.1780.

    It measures 29.8cm (11 3/4") long, 25cm (9 7/8") wide and 9cm (3 1/2") high.

In excellent condition: there is a small shallow chip to the moulding at the edge of the rim, minimally obvious or detracting as this is where the ground already pales into the gilt. No other damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
