About this item
First Period Worcester lobed circular plate painted in underglaze blue with the Rubber Tree Plant pattern, c.1775. With decorative branches and pseudo Chinese marks to the reverse as is specific to this pattern.
Referenced in Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751-1790, Branyan, French & Sandon, section I.E.47, classed as "uncommon".
It measures 18.5cm (7 1/4") wide 3.5cm (1 3/8") high.
Condition is very good: there is a small chip and another nibble to the foot rim and another chip to the foot rim has been professionally filled. Light surface wear and a little wear to the glaze on the very edge of the rim in a couple of places.
