    About this item

Simple late 18th century styling, a Flight period Worcester spiral fluted trio comprising coffee cup, tea bowl and saucer, c.1790. Decorated with  floral sprigs in underglaze blue with gilded foliage and framed with running borders inside and out, of underglaze blue diamonds with gilt dots, edged in gilt with stylised leaf detail between them. The tea bowl and saucer have a starburst motif in the centre.

The saucer and tea bowl are marked with a small blue crescent and the coffee cup with an incised B and workman's mark inside the foot rim, c.1790.

    The saucer measures 13.3cm (5 1/4") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high. The tea bowl measures 8.3cm (3 1/4") wide and 5.3cm (2 1/16") high. The coffee cup is 9cm (3 1/2") rim to handle, 6.3cm (2 5/8") rim tot rim and 6.3cm (2 5/8") high.

Condition is very good; there is a very fine hairline across the lower terminal of the coffee cup and a fleabite inside the foot rim of the bowl. There is also a nick to the saucer foot rim but it appears under glaze. No other issues and surface wear is very light, just a tiny bit of wear to the gilt on the rims in a couple of places.
