About this item
Pretty Ridgway rectangular pearlware dish with fluted sides and borders and moulded finger holds formed as red roses and leaves. A duck egg blue ground layered with very finely modelled white cameo style decoration of running roses and leaves. In the centre is a square reserve painted with a botanical specimen of Alpine Erinus, marked as such verso. The rim and edging are all in a red-brown.
Reference: "The Illustrated Guide to Ridgway Porcelains" by Godden, plates 28, 29 and 30.
It measures 23.5cm (9 1/4") long by 19cm (7 1/2") wide and 5cm (2") high.
Condition is very good: there is a half inch hairline in one corner but no other damage or restoration and surface wear is very light.
