About this item
An attractive Spode bone china coffee can painted in the bold pattern number 643 with a central frieze of gilt stars over an orange seaweed background, sandwiched between orange bands with black enamel running pattern framed with gilt. Gilded band around the foot, rim and handle. Unmarked c.1800-1805.
It measures 6.5cm (2 9/16") high and 6.7cm (2 5/8") rim to rim.
Condition is very good: there is a fine hairline across the handle which appears to be glaze level only. No other damage or repair. Minor handling wear to the gilt on the gilt on the handle and a little to a couple of spots on the rim. A little discolouration on the underside of the base. There is a small underglaze indent to the rim on the inside from manufacture.
