A really lovely early 19th century porcelain coffee can exquisitely painted with a bird in a landscape, named on the reverse as "le loriot de l'Europe", the Golden Oriole, a stunning little bird with bright yellow plumage with black wings and tail. The scene is framed at the rim and below with a gilt line and a lemon yellow ground strip runs around the bottom. Delicate square shape handle with shaped terminals and gilt edging. Underglaze blue sceptre mark, c.1800.
It measures 6cm high, 6cm rim to rim and 8cm rim to handle.
Condition is excellent with no damage or repair and no discernible handling wear at all, the decoration is perfect.
