About this item
A very stylish Spode bone china squared dessert serving plate with the purple Felspar mark, c.1825. Decorated in pattern 4003 with a rich mazarine blue ground reserving three angled leaf shapes, edged in yellow enamel and a central circle, all well painted with garden flowers in bright enamels. Three other reserves are painted with a yellow ground and over gilded to create the effect of a bunch of grapes. Rich decoration over the blue ground with twining grape vine and a gilt sawtooth rim and frame to the main central reserve. Pattern number marked to the reverse along with the factory mark.
It measures 21cm (8 1/4") wide and 2.8cm (1 1/8") high.
In very good condition: there is a short tight glaze line to the edge finishing at the foot rim. This cannot be seen from the front because of the rich decoration. No other issues and minimal handling wear.
