About this item
A fine and large late rococo revival shaped Coalport vase, c.1845, with 2 beautifully painted scenes of Sevres style birds by John Randall. The body has a royal blue ground with some salmon detailing and finely gilded.
It measures 30.5cm (12") high, 12.5cm (4 7/8") wide across the handles by 11.5cm (4 1/2").
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There are some craze lines in the blue enamel mainly around the foot section but these are just lines in the glaze and enamel, not cracks or damage and there are some darker streaks in places also which is a very common development with this blue enamel over time. It is all to the lower half and minimally detracting. Light surface wear only, just a little minor nicking to the blue enamel in places and very little to the bird scenes.
