About this item
Pretty early Worcester large squared bowl with fluting to the corners and curved shaped rim. Decorated in the atelier of James Giles, c.1770, with a lovely large neoclassical urn in the centre with mark and snake handles festooned in floral garlands and the edge painted with delicate floral sprays in green, blue and purple. Previously part of the Stephen Hanscombe Collection.
It measures 9 3/8" wide and 1 5/8" high.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Some light surface wear to the enamelling of the urn in the centre, a small glaze flake to one of the red flowers and a few small losses to the gilding on the rim.
