About this item
A large bisque porcelain piano baby, made in Germany by Gebruder Heubach in the early 20th century. This example is particularly well modelled and painted in naturalistic style. The facial features have been very delicately done. It has intaglio eyes which have real depth, a feature found on many Heubach dolls. Its fingers and toes are all intact. The base bears printed and impressed Heubach marks.
