About this item
Pretty New Hall coffee can, c.1810, with plain loop handle and straight sided shape. Decorated with stylised oak leaves and acorns in underglaze blue with rich gilded decoration and fine twisting tendrils in between and framed with gilded bands.
Unmarked, illustrated in plate 251 "New Hall" by Holgate.
It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high, 6.8cm (2 11/16") rim to rim and 8.5cm (3 3/8") rim to handle.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Light surface wear, mainly to the gilding on the lowest gilded band, a little on the rim but minimal to the main frieze.
