About this item
A fine pair of Bow bocage figures of the "New Dancers", c.1765, set on ornate scrolled bases trimmed in turquoise enamel and gilt and covered in individual leaves and flowers. Both marked with a red anchor and dagger.
Reference: 18th Century English Porcelain Figures, Bradshaw, page 154 and plate 66.
They measure 22cm-22.5cm (8 5/8"- 8 7/8") high, 19cm (7 1/2") wide and 9.5cm (3 3/4") deep.
Condition is very good: boy, no damage or restoration to figure or stand and minor chips to the bocage. Girl: both hands have been neatly repaired at the wrist and part of the rim of her hat towards the bocage and the feather have been restored. A small repair to a section of stem of the bocage but fully hidden from normal view and some usual minor chips to tips of leaves and petals.
