About this item
A fine pair of Belgian Blue art pottery faience vases dating to approximately 1900, and in the Art Nouveau style. They are made of quite heavy earthenware with the characteristic cobalt blue and green drip glaze. The back and front of each vase is decorated with an incised floral pattern which, along with the elegant shape of the vases echoes the Art Nouveau style. The vases bear no maker's marks, as is common on these earlier pieces.
Condition : Generally good with a chip to the base of one that probably occured during manufacture, a little crazing to the glaze, and one small flake to the glaze.
