About this item
An exceptional and rare quality Dutch hand-painted floral design art pottery vase made at the Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (PZH) Gouda factory and dating from the early 20th century. The finely made miniature vase is made in an inverted thistle shape with a wide conical shaped lower body and squat rounded upper section with a small short central funnel shaped opening. The body of the vase is hand painted in a loose style with floral designs in tones of lilac and green over a mottled green and blue ground. The base of the vase has an early PZH mark along with initials PW and MADE IN HOLLAND.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
