    EARLY CHILDS BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATE

    FLOWERS THAT NEVER FADE ~ GOOD HUMOR

    Staffordshire England  ~  c. 1830

    This wonderful small child's pearlware plate is 4 7/8 inches wide and transfer printed in wonderful brown.  Wonderful impressed animals, butterfly border.

    The transfer shows two young maidens in the flower garden with their black dog.  

    The poetic moral to the image is:  

    Good Humor is the greatest charm  ~  That children can possess  ~  It makes them happy, and what more  ~  It gives them power to bless.

    Condition is great, never used.
