About this item
A rare ceramic figurine of a poodle, made by the Ditmar Urbach factory in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s. The factory made a number of different animals that were handpainted in a slightly crazy, psychedelic pallet. This brightly coloured and slightly grotesque little dog has all the hallmarks of a piece from this range. He is sitting staring at a fly that has landed on the tip of his nose and his eyes are crossed as a result. He is unmarked, as is common, but unmistakably Ditmar Urbach.
