About this item
A delicate Worcester porcelain egg drainer, c.1790, with raised shell shaped handle and painted with red and blue cornflower "barbeaux" type sprigs and a ring of cornflowers around the edge. All edged and heightened in gilt. Unmarked.
It measures 9cm (3 1/2") wide, 10.5cm (4 1/8") including the handle and 3.4cm (5/16").
Condition is very good; the foot rim has been ground down to remove some small chips and two remain. Otherwise no damage or restoration and surface condition is excellent with no discernible handling wear.
