    About this item

A beautiful and rare miniature pottery cradle, dating to the late 18th to early 19th century. It is underglazed in green with impressed basket weave pattern to the surface. It rests on two rocker supports. It is naively made and probably originates from the Staffordshire area.

These miniature pieces are often described as toys, or as gifts given to a newly married couple to encourage the birth of offspring.

It is in good original condition with a few minor nicks to the glaze.
