About this item
This Minton plate is decorated very simply with a central hand coloured transfer print of a cherub in puce (pattern G1533) The outer rim features a very fine basket weave pattern and the edge is finished with gilding. It was made in 1874 for the retailer John Mortlock and measures 257 mm, or 10.5 inches in diameter. It has two small scratches to the centre of the plate, otherwise it is in excellent condition.
