About this item
A fine John Rose Coalport porcelain sugar box and cover in the London shape with acanthus moulded handles and fluted octagonal knop. Finely painted in imari colours in underglaze blue, orange and red enamel and over gilded. Marked to the base with pattern number 128 in gilt and a decorators mark, c.1815.
It measures 16.3cm (6 3/8") wide by 11.5cm (4 1/2") and 11.5cm (4 1/2").
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minor handling wear, just a bit of rubbing to the gilt in places on the rim and side handles.
