About this item
A nice New Hall coffee can with charming bat printed scenes over coloured with enamels, one side with a scene of young lovers, a shepherdess being played music to by a young man lying under a tree, and the other with a landscape view of a cottage on the bank of a river. Gilt rims and handle detail. Decorator's mark underneath. c.1815.
It measures 6.4cm (2 1/2") high and 6.7cm (2 5/8") rim to rim.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Minor handling wear; a bit of rubbing to the gilt on top of the rim and a couple of tiny nicks to the enamel on the landscape scene.
