About this item
A Regency period Ridgway coffee cup and saucer with the "Old English Handle" shape, c.1825. Lightly fluted cup and both pieces with scalloped rims. A mazarine blue border and gilt sawtooth border intersected with small peach enamel painted reserves and reserved white flower shapes with gilt foliage. The centres finely painted with garden flowers in bright enamels. The outsdie of the cup with further gilt decoration. The cup with pattern number 2 over 1865 in red enamel.
The cup measures 6.5cm (2 5/8") high to the rim and 8cm (3 1/8") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.5cm (4 3/4") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear. The cup is very finely crazed from manufacture.
