About this item
A primitive wooden pantry box, sometime known as a sugar bucket or firkin, dating to the mid to late 19th century. It is made out of staves and bent wood, with a hinged bentwood handle which, when standing holds the lid firmly in place. The bentwood straps are held in place with little nails and staples. The wood has a beautiful aged patina.
In good original condition with minor loss to the rim of the lid and general wear commensurate with the age of the piece.
