About this item
A sweet late 19th century porcelain figure of a recumbent sheep, c.1880, with small bocage produced by Edme Samson after the 18th century Chelsea versions. Nicely modelled with textured fleece and with the remnants of gold anchor mark to the back.
It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") by 5.8cm (2 1/4") wide and 6.5cm (2 1/2") high.
Condition: there has been a repair to the trunk below the bocage, restoration to the left ear and a small chip to the tip of the right one. A couple of very minor chips to the bocage, enamels are nice and bright and it displays well.
