Early Scottish Childs Pearlware Plate
OLD MOTHER HUBBARD
SCOTLAND c 1830
This is an early child's transferware plate, circa 1830. It measures a large 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The plate is transfer printed in brown with green painted outer rim.
Hand painted flowers around the name. Eight sided plate with a thistle type press moulded rim and a thick pearlware glaze.
An early naive piece with Mother Hubbard verse, out of our private collection.
The plate is in great condition. Normal stilt marks to the front and slight age toning.
