About this item
A fine studio pottery slipware storage jar made by renowned Warwickshire potter Paul Young, a master of the art of slipware. It is in a stylishly simple shape with flared sides and inset lid. It is made of wheel-thrown terracotta with a rich brown glaze decorated with polka dots and trailed slip banding. The piece does not bear the potter's signature, but was purchased from his studio about 25 years ago. This serviceable and decorative piece would look great in any house.
It is in good condition with just a little crazing to the glaze.
