Small 1970s Bay Keramik West German Jug 298-17
A very small, highly decorated jug made by Bay Keramik in the 1970s. Carrying pattern number 298-17, although not marked as being made by Bay, they were the only company making this pattern number.
Bay Keramik was started in 1933 by Eduard Bay and is possibly one of the most well-known of the West German Pottery companies. It was one of the top producers from the beginning of the West German era and ranked with Scheurich and Ruscha for quantity, variety, and quality of production.
This small tectured jug, with an ivory base colour is decorated with purple, yellow and grey bands. Excellent condition - no chips or cracks.
