    About this item

A lovely quality, early 19th century, silver resist lustre jug. This jug is decorated with a wide band of flowers and foliage and it has a geometric border to the rim. To achieve this effect, with the silver lustre, the design was painted onto the piece using oils and then the item was dipped in the lustre glaze. The oils resisted the glaze so the design shows through in the base colour of the pottery.

    English pearlware. Date c.1820.

    Dimensions: Height 10.5cm. Width 13cm. Diameter 10cm.

It is in excellent condition and the lustre is particularly bright.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
