This spectacular large earthenware blue Staffordshire transferware plate is in a the Indian Sporting Series is c.1830. Measuring a generous 10 5/8 " in diameter. The piece is impeccably potted and finely transfer printed in a rich and intense blue, with a pearlware glaze and scalloped rim.
The border features floral and botanical sprays, including rare pumpkins, and the center well has a young hunter with his hound on the chase after a Tiger. An absolutely stunning composition.
Great condition, clean shiny and bright. Light utensil wear.
