About this item
A Staffordshire pearlware pottery mug well modelled with a Bacchus mask with pointed ears and small horns. Decorated in underglaze blue. Unmarked, early 19th century.
It measures 9.5cm (3 3/4") high, 13cm (5 1/8") front to back and 7.8cm (3") wide.
Condition is fair. There are a number of small chips to the rim and a short hairline coming off one. The surface is finely crazed and evenly brown tinged.
