About this item
A fabulous large Worcester porcelain leaf dish with moulded vein detail and decorated with a blue scale ground. Mirror and vase reserves, framed with gilt scrolls and filled with finely painted European flowers, rotate around a central circular reserve. Further shaped loose triangular reserves with gilt frames come in off the gilded rim painted with further floral sprays. Blue square mark to the base, c.1770. This is an example of the largest size of these leaf shape serving dishes.
It measures 33.7cm (13 1/4") long, 24.5cm (9 5/8") wide and 4.5cm (1 7/8") high.
Condition is very good: there is a very small shallow surface chip to the rim. No other damage, repair or restoration and minor surface wear to the enamels at some of the high points along the vein lines. Both enamels and gilding are lovely and bright.
