A PRESENT FOR MY GIRL
Staffordshire England ~ c. 1820
This desirable mug from the Staffordshire region of England stands a mere 2 3/8 " tall x 2 1/2 " wide excluding the applied acanthus leaf terminal handle.
A wonderful creamware mug with a lustre band along the rim. The inscription reads A PRESENT FOR MY GIRL.
Creamware mugs in this great condition are hard to find especially with such a fabulous subject as this.
A rare find. Light weight and beautifully potted with no chips, cracks, hairline or repairs. Appears to be out of a museum collection. You will not find a better example.
