VICTORIAN AESTHETIC ERA
BLACK TRANSFERWARE POT LID
TOILET CREAM ~ HUMAN HAIR SALVE
W. Thornton
18 Brook Street
Chorlton-on-Medlock
Manchester, England
c. 1885
This Victorian 3 " wide x 1 3/8 " tall covered ceramic earthenware container was made during Victorian times and probably contained a salve made of bear's grease fat mixed with magical herbs and caustic surprises.
Boasting to restore the Hair no matter what the problem. Rare to find pot lid for the collector.
The pieces are in good condition, a small chip off the side of the lid and a couple off the base. The pieces are a marriage but a good fit.
