About this item
Two early Spode bone china coffee cans or small mugs.
They are bat printed in charcoal grey monochrome with the pattern 557 which depicts various landscapes and country scenes in the early 19th century romantic style.
One of the coffee cans shows a rustic landscape of a village church, house and cows grazing in the foreground, c1805.
The other coffee can has a rural life landscape with a cottage, church spire in the distance and a hilltop windmill and two locals chatting.
Both coffee cans have gilt rims and the distinctive Spode handle decoration and no marks to the base of the cans.
Both are in very good condition, no chips or cracks but they do have some rubbing to the gilt in several areas,
