MELBOURNE PATTERN
Gildea and Walker Potteries
Tunstall, Staffordshire England c. 1882
This large Victorian aesthetic 8 3/4 x 10” wide x 4 3/4 " tall serving piece is transfer printed in rich dark brown.
The pattern features geometric designs along the base and inner rim. The well of the piece has an outstanding Kingfisher perched amongst bamboo and flowering Quince with two cartouche panels below of more exotic shapes and a landscape with a setting sun. Large flying Egrets and songbirds and geometrics along the four outside panels finish off this great show piece.
Appears to have never been used. Displays beautifully and will really make a statement.
