Victorian George Jones Majolica Sardine Box c.1875

A good majolica sardine box and cover by George Jones in an unusual colour way of lilac ground with jade green, chartreuse and a bluey silver colour on the three salmon laying across the cover in a bed of seaweed and the usual ochre yellow rims. The base with clear unmottled section painted on black with the model number.

It measures 15cm (5 7/8") by 12.8cm (5") wide and 9cm (3 1/2") high. 

In excellent condition with no damage repair or restoration and minimal handling wear. The inside has some crazing.
