Stunning Transferware Plates
CYPRUS
Brownfield and Sons ~ Staffordshire, England ~ c. 1885
These fabulous soup plates are crisply transfer printed in brown with hand painting in green, blue and lustre and decorated in an Art Deco pattern with a naturalistic inspiration, a kaleidoscopic design of stylized sunflowers and feathers. The decoration is bright and clear and coveted by collectors. The plate was made by Brownfield Potteries in the Staffordshire region of England.
large 9 1/2 inches wide.
The plates are in great never used condition. Early pieces in this wonderful pattern don't come along often, and the contrast and composition is especially beautiful. 12 available
