    RARE SMALL SIZE LATE VICTORIAN ERA BLACK TRANSFERWARE POT LID

    ROSE COLD CREAM

    Atkinson's ~ LONDON ENGLAND

    c. 1880

    This Victorian 2 3/8 " wide x 1 1/2 " tall covered ceramic earthenware container was made during Victorian times and contained one part wax and four parts rose oil.  Some creative Chemists would add whale sperm, borax, almond oil or the popular Otto of Roses.  All for an attractive price of 1 shilling.  

    The pieces are in great condition, a few nibble to the base.
