About this item
Hand-Painted Duck Egg Blue Antique Bow Front Chest of Drawers
Dimensions H77cm W61cm D43cm
A beautifully proportioned antique bow front chest of drawers, completely reimagined by French Mirror House.
The original timber chest has been hand painted in soft chalky tones of aged white and Duck Egg Blue with a loosely patterned, almost time-worn finish across the drawer fronts and sides. The surface has been deliberately layered, distressed and aged to give the impression of decoration that has evolved naturally over many years.
The original curved drawer fronts and elegant proportions have been retained, together with traditional-style ring handles which complement the aged finish beautifully.
The top has been treated more simply, with a soft pale centre framed by a muted Duck Egg Blue border, allowing the shape of the chest to remain the focus.
Inside, the original timber drawers have been retained, preserving the character and history of the piece.
This is an individual, one-off piece of functional art for the home, designed to work equally well in a bedroom, hallway, landing or living space.
As with all antique furniture, there are signs of age and previous use which form part of its character and are intentionally retained.
