    About this item

    A most unusual chest of drawers from circa 1806. The inlay and feet are black and I am told that this was a mark of respect to Lord Nelson who was killed in 1805.
    This chest is in sound and usable condition. It has not been over-restored and the surface is original. There are, therefore, marks and minor defected in the polished surface (probably caused by spraying perfume). One side has a crack where the panels have split. This is in no way detrimental to the overall look or soundness of this very handsome piece,
