    A rare and interesting 19th century carved chest
    of outstanding quality in the 16thcentury Romayne style
    3 panel top plus 2 panel arcaded sides &
    3 panel back. The top with carved thumb moulding.
    The front with 3 individual carved panels, the 2 flank panels in the Romayne style the centre panel carved with the
    Arms of Colonel John Lane of Kings Bromley
    Each panel bordered with ebony and walnut
    chevrons.
    Provenance available
    The whole pegged and dated 1872.
    Replacement hinges
    Wonderful patination and of superb colour.
