This is an antique shipwright's trunk. An English, pine craftsman's tool chest, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Versatile and generously sized, makes for an attractive craftsman's chest Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Presented with a dark stained pine exterior with light weathering Clean, naturally finished pine interior shows fine grain interest and biscuit hues Deep lid opens smoothly, coming to rest on a rear brace Inset with a later 1928 copper Half Penny coin to the corner Inset working lock — key present with balance weight key fob Hand painted type to fascia reads 'B.R Tucker, SHwt No 25020' Stout keepers to either side host a quality braided rope handle Dressed with a useful, small brass hook to the rear Visible dovetail joint construction shows the durable, lasting natureThis is a wonderfully aged antique shipwright's chest with superb presentation. perfect for storage or uses as a distinctive low coffee table.
