About this item
A fine quality Regency veneered mahogany teapoy ,the shaped lid opening to reveal an interior fitted with two caddies, the glass mixing bowl is missing but could easily be replaced,it has the unusual feature of a mirror. The base is in the form of a finely carved lyre with carved bird's heads either side of a shell cartouche, down to a platform base with four well carved legs.Excellent colour and patina, there is a chance that the teapoy may be Federal, the lyre shape was used by Duncan Phyfe and the carving on the legs is similar to that on some of his pieces.Regency Circa 1820.
