    A superb quality late 18th century (circa 1790) mahogany chest on chest with extremely unusual drawer configuration making this piece not only rare and but more practical with the smaller drawers to the top - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

    The top section of this chest consists of a moulded double dental cornice leading down to the rare and unusual drawer configuration of two short over two short over two long drawers.

    The drawers being cockbeaded with oak linings and having original fine cast Rococo style brass handles and escutcheons with Corinthian column design to either side with a brass capital and fluted mahogany pilasters with brass base.

    The lower section of the chest has a brushing slide leading down to two short over two long cockbeaded drawers with oak linings and original fine cast Rococo style brass handles and escutcheons with moulded canted corners to either side of the drawers.

    The ends consist of superbly figured solid mahogany and the chest is supported by ogee feet.

    This chest on chest is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
