A very fine and unusual Edwardian rosewood and giltwood framed cheval mirror, of exceptional quality, fabulously carved and line inlaid throughout with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The bevelled mirror glass plate of oval form is set within a finely carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame, surmounted with an impressive curved architectural pediment with applied flowerhead paterae and c-scrolls flanked with trailing foliate motif detail. The two beautifully line inlaid rosewood side supports surmounted with decorative brass finials and fitted with brass knobs which adjust the tension to tilt the mirror to various angles of choice, with further fluted brass detail to the base, terminating on elegant, tapering outswept legs with scroll detail conjoined with stretcher.
